Why an “Advanced” Puppy Class?
Some puppies reach 18 weeks of age without having had the puppy school experience.
There can be several reasons for this:
- Rehoming just outside the cutoff age
- Illness or injury
- Confusion over vaccination protocols
- Time got away from you and your puppy became too old for a puppy class.
Because we are often approached about puppy issues for these older pups, we’ve designed a special course to fill the gap for these pups.
The Course?
We specialise in puppy training in Newcastle, puppy training in Port Stephens, puppy training in the Hunter, puppy training in Maitland.
After years of observing what these “between age” pups have missed out on and continue to need as they approach adulthood, we have designed a 4-week course to include the following:
- Eliminating nipping and biting
- Discouraging jumping up on people
- Gaining the pup’s focus when distractions are competing for their attention
- Coming when called
- Walking and responding on a loose leash
- Enrichment activities for problem-solving, engagement and calming
- Opportunity for you to discuss any challenges you may be having with your pup

Who?
The course is designed for puppies between the ages of 4 and 6 months; the ones who have missed out. The ones who still behave like puppies but who are developing adolescent brains. Some may feel these puppies are developmentally delayed because they really don’t understand the ways and expectations of the human world.
We’ve designed this course to help fill this gap so that you can guide your young dog through to adulthood with confidence and understanding.
